'Team points' are awarded according to the adequacy of the solution with the type of innovations sought by Team for the Planet. They correspond to the analysis of several factors :

  • impact potential: impact average score > 4 => 0,5 point / if > 4,15 => 1 point.
  • global consistency: all average score of the 6 selection criteria > 2,5 => 1 point.
  • the favourite: % of assessments judge the innovation as a top one to act on a global scale against greenhouse gases > 20% => 1 point
  • the targeting: validation of Team for the Planet scope of action higher than 90% => 0,5 point + innovation level of maturity is enough => 0,5 point
  • social acceptability: semantic analysis score of comments > 0 => 0,5 point/ if > 3500 => 1 point
46 assessments

Submitted to the Sci. Committee : After the evaluations made by our volunteer assessors, innovations with the strongest impact potential are submitted to the Scientific Committee. The managing directors are responsible for the choice.

Detailed project

NB: this form is filled entirely by the ones submitting the innovation.

What is the issue addressed?

10 air conditioners are sold every second in the world. This number will increase threefold by 2050. This will generate a surplus of energy demand equivalent to the consumption of the USA, Japan, and the EU today. Although the construction market is oriented toward renovation in Europe, the rest of the world and especially Asia and Africa, where the strongest growth will take place in the coming decades, are markets with strong indicators both on the number of new constructions per year and characterized by much shorter life cycles. The construction industry uses 60% of the material resources extracted from the planet annually and 40% of the energy produced. It is one of the biggest "carbon" items in our individual and collective footprint. It is therefore essential to reduce the need for building materials (extraction, transformation, transport) and to reduce the energy needs of buildings during their use. In view of global warming, the buildings built and equipped with passive facades were not designed to adapt to a changing climate.

How is the problem solved?

We rethink the envelope of new buildings thanks to the biomimicry of the human skin. In a composite wall that requires less material and is just as insulating, a calorific fluid creates heat gradients between the façades and redistributes the flows for a comfortable interior.

What is the customer target?

- Motivated by operators/construction contractors and regulations (RE2020): we bring a solution to the standardized market - Prescribed by eco-design architects: we sell a design office service for the localization and integration of the technology (open-source model) - Manufactured by local material manufacturers: we receive royalties for the surfaces produced and/or on the gains during the life cycle of the equipped building. We are also our first customer thanks to the founder Mr. Albert Abut who is an architect and has already integrated Smart Panel in projects under study around the world (France, Japan, Ghana, Dubai,...)

How is this solution different?

Prefabricated panels made of light and resistant composite materials -Pre-equipped with insulation from the aerospace industry (localized by climate) -Standardized frames for easy and modular integration with PV glass (partner) -Networked panels for total management of the facade on the surface and towards the interior with the connection to underfloor heating and chilled ceilings (MEP system) -Panel cost in the standards of "non-smart and passive" facades -Freedom of choice of design of the outer layer for architects
